Re: L series sump and oil pump

The oil pumps should be the same.

The L series sump you could use, but you would have to use a L series gearbox and engine mounts to get it to tilt the same way as a L series.

Nice work Greg, that is a weird diff you have, I must have had about 5 or 6 R200 housings pass through my ownership and I've never seen one with that big lump at the end of the oil channel like that.

Re: Datto_610's 180B - Street Legal!

Lol @ satanic diff cover plate. Or maybe they're all like that and I've never seen one clean enough for it to be visible. I definitely wouldn't use that pinion flange without sleeving it, there's a chance it might not leak but if it does it will make a huge mess. Or just use the other one if it's no...

Sorry for late reply, just dug it up now. Looks to be front sump but has a bit of a dent. I'm in Christchurch but can probably courier for around $40 for the part and maybe $20 courier?

Re: My '72 1600 SSS

Nice work , do you maybe need to up the welding current to really get some penetration to try stop the cracking Maybe, I was worried that going too hot would be too much of a thermal shock for the casting. Reading online guys were saying not to heavily clamp/restrain the workpiece, but I kind of ha...

Re: My '72 1600 SSS

So I decided it would be best to weld the inside fully first to try to control some of the horrific cracking on the outside welds for when I get to finishing those. This seemed to work, the whole thing stayed a lot more consistently warm and while I heard a few loud cracks start on the outside, ever...

Re: My '72 1600 SSS

Got the gearbox mandrel back from machining so started the welding procedure. Broke all the tacks from last time and shaved both pieces down a bit, retacked and had a measure. This process actually takes ages. I'm really hating welding this stuff. The tacks crack within seconds of cooling even with ...

Re: Z18 Turbo

I've got a Z20E sump at home, it's doesn't have a turbo drain fitting that I can see though.
